OK, don’t laugh. Well, you can laugh. But Hanson are coming to town. They are playing at the Newport on Tuesday Sept 18. Is there anyone out there who’d like to join me? I’ve been wanting to see them for 10 years believe it or not, but every time they’ve come around I’ve been out of town. So, it looks like things are finally working out in my favor.
So, any closet Hanson fans out there? Time to come on out.

bd, your perception of hanson is the most common misinformed version.
what most people don’t know is the unlike the spice girls, backstreet boys or n’sync — hanson ALWAYS wrote their own songs, played their own instruments and produced their own records.
they may have been teenyboppers but at least they did it in their own way and didn’t rely on anyone else. i liked their music then, and i like their music now. it’s been an experience watching them grow up, and although their music is still definitely pop music it has definitely matured.
Yeah, yeah. I know they are an actual band. That doesn’t erase the memories of every girl in 7th grade going nuts when the latest issue of Tiger Beat came out and Hanson was the center-fold. It was distrubing to say the least.
Hmm… why not! I’ll probably be on campus that day anyway, I think school starts the next day so Tuesday night would be a great final vacation time.

I think I’ll pass on the concert, but I agree with you, Mike. Hanson always got a bad rap. Sure, there was the Tiger Beat pinup factor, but as boybands go, they were one of the best ones, and their music has actually held up pretty well.
